Buli (Ghana) in Ghana
Size
Buli is a language of northern Ghana. It is spoken in areas such as Sandema, the capital town on Bulsa North District; Fumbisi, the capital of Bulsa South District; as well as other towns such as Chuchuliga, Kadema, Gbedema and Biu. Buli speakers are called Bulsa (or Builsa). Though Buli is an Oti-Volta language, it is somewhat distinct from the other languages in this group and it used to be classified as a Grusi language because of features that it shares with Kasem, a non-Oti-Volta language spoken to the north of the Bulsa (these similarities are now thought to be the result of borrowing).
